The company "La terra del mezzo" (The Land of the Middle) was founded within an 18-hectare farm in the territory between Riposto and Carruba, just above Torre Archirafi and at the foot of Mount Etna.
The influence of the volcano and the unique microclimate of the area make it perfect for citrus cultivation, especially for the lemon, the Etna Lemon PGI.
The Pennisi Nicolosi family has been cultivating this citrus grove for decades, within which an agritourism of the same name, "La terra del mezzo," stands.
There are small plots of mandarins, Valencia oranges, and avocados on the farm's land.
The approximately 3000 lemon trees produce large quantities of primofiore lemon, bianchetto lemon, and verdello lemon depending on the season. The verdello is precisely the flagship of our production as it ripens in an unusual period, created by a forced flowering, in August and remains green in color.
The flowering of our lemon grove is enhanced by the pollination of the "Sicilian black bee," which can live in our hives thanks to the use of natural products and the absence of pesticides.
