The Raciti Maria company is located in Guardia Mangano, a hamlet of Acireale (CT), and is a citrus grove of about 5.5 hectares cultivated with lemons with particular verdello. The estate purchased in 1914 by grandfather Salvatore Raciti is located below the line of the highway 114 (eastern Sicilian) in the lands that slope gently towards the Ionian Sea.
The current owner, Sig. Maria Raciti, inherited it from her father Giuseppe who at the end of the 1950s undertook huge modernization works in it, creating large flat expanses and a well, the latter joining forces with other growers, in order to make the plantation more productive and efficient.
In the past 30 years the owner has made efforts to switch from entirely manual irrigation to totally rain irrigation in order to allow the best use of the water drawn from the Sant'Antonio di Padova well located in it.
The cultivation of verdelli lemons, greatly favored by the particular soil of lava derivation, takes place in an entirely organic context without the use of products not allowed in organic agriculture.
Every year, 100,000 to 150,000 kilograms of lemons are produced and marketed with the utmost care and dedication that has always distinguished the Raciti family.
